  1. I loved Jerry Spinelli's book Stargirl. It was full of colorful language and strong vocabulary. The characters Stargirl and Leo had a unique relationship for high school students. Leo was stupid for letting Stargirl get away, but, oh, well, that is high school. I will definitely read the sequel to this book to see if they get back together.

  2. I think that your book Stargirl was a very good book. It was not my favorite book, but I really liked this book. What inspired you to write? What did inspire you to become a writer? How did you come up with the different characters, what inspired you? Did it take a long time to write this book?

  3. Dear Jerry,

Hi, my name is Isabella. I really liked your book. I liked the way Stargirl was not scared to be her own self. I’m sort of like her, but then I’m not. I started off as the new girl at my school this year; I know how it feels. One thing that is different about me is that I don’t play the ukulele and dress really different from everybody. I also made a lot of friends on my first day of school. I feel as if I have gone to Karn City my whole life. I also have a boyfriend that no one likes and my friends try to get me to dump him, but I just don’t listen to them. There are some people that don’t talk to me over it, but all, but, thankfully, there are a few people that are still talking to me.

    Love,

  4. Dear Jerry,
I was wondering how you got the idea for the book because I don’t think there are too many people is the world that want to be called Stargirl. It was an interesting story. I think this story would help people who are shy and are afraid of talking to other people. I really liked the book, I usually don’t like books if they are not about fishing or the outdoors, but I really enjoyed this book. I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. Thanks for writing it.
    Sincerely,
    9th grade student

  5. Dear Jerry,
I thought that Stargirl was a boring book because it was too much of a child like romance book for me. I prefer Cook Books.

  6. Dear Jerry,
I thought the book Stargirl was a good book. I thought that it was funny when Stargirl’s rat cleaned out his ear. I would have liked to have seen Leo and Stargirl stay together. I am a little upset that Stargirl moved away from Mica and never told anyone where she was going. Did you have an idea where Stargirl was going to move to or did you just say she’s moving as you were writing the book? If you did have an idea where she was moving, where is that?

  7. Dear Jerry,
Hi! I liked reading the book Stargirl. It was a really good book. Stargirl was a little strange, but I liked her. She was a cheerleader but I liked it when she started cheering for the other team and then they would score. I thought that Mica students were a little harsh because they all quit talking to her when she started cheering for the other team. Dori was a good friend to Stargirl; she was there for her through the shunning.

  8. Hi I read Stargirl with my class and it was and okay book. The book was a little strange because Stargirl was a strange girl in Mica High School. When Leo liked Stargirl I thought that Leo was going to be strange like her but he wasn’t.

  9. In the book "Wanted" by Caroline B. Cooney the conflict is between Alice and reality, Alice doesn’t believe that her father is dead. Her mother says “He Died”, but Alice doesn’t believe it. Another conflict in this story if Alice versus her self, Alice doesn’t want to go home, so she is drive her “dead” fathers corvette. Alice heard that she was wanted over the radio, and she also heard that the police were out searching for her, her brain was in a pell-mell.
